Cracked Wheat Bread

November 6, 2014

Tomorrow marks 1 year since mom passed away. I made cracked wheat bread this morning. It usually falls and I've been trying for a while to make it work and today it did! I think I had a little help! Love you mom!(Now I need to just start making round loaves in large juice cans like she did!)

Update:  Round loaves!

Poster Child?

August 13, 2014

Wednesday night as Kimber and I took Addison to back to school night to find out who her teacher would be for the year, we were surprised to see her pic on a poster for the Substance Abuse Coalition. So Fun!

Mission Review - October 2014

October has been great to McKenna in Alcala de Henares,  She cleaned the dungeon, went to the largest medieval festival in Spain, found a garden and toured the cemetery.

Dinner at a member's.  She collects wants and sabers!

Cleaning out the storage unit under a new member's apartment (aka dungeon).

Attending a session of conference with an investigator and her son.

A blanket that a member gave McKenna turned into a pedistal for shouting out "Everybody Loves Me!"

The medieval festival:
McKenna said their four legged animals were a little bit smaller than the ones she is used to!

Plaza Cervantes

Plaza Cervantes

Typical McKenna - enjoying the downpour!

McKenna's true Spanish sandals...revealed their true colors after the downpour!

McKenna's best friend was married this month - on the 11th.  To celebrate, McKenna read this article from a 1988 Ensign in her piso!

My Happy Birthday from McKenna!

Dinner at a member's.  Paella!

It's always a treat to find a picture on Facebook that McKenna has been tagged in!

The Madrid Temple early in the morning.

Dessert at a member's house that reminded McKenna of Grandma Schmutz!  She said it was the Spanish version of chocolate chip cookies and rice con leche.  I don't really know how it relates to Grandma, but I think it is homemade food and that would definitely make McKenna happy!

McKenna and her companions found a garden at a member's house.  She was thrilled!  They grow different fruits and veggies of course, but her 1 hour travel to make it to the home was worth it!

Again, typical McKenna - finding time to swing and play while waiting for the bus!

McKenna's caption for this photo:  "My City!  It is beautiful!"

At a baptism for the other sisters.

Carving pumpkins in Spain!

All the Alcala de Henares sisters!  Now rooming together in the same piso!

This puzzle impressed McKenna and made her think of her Schmutz side of the family!  15,000 pieces!

Archbishop's Palace

"A crazy tower."  I sure wish she would be a little more specific!

Inside the "crazy tower" in a tunnel they found.

The tour of the cemetery.

Back together with Hermana Coburn just before she left the mission field with their convert L.

A Japanese student dressed the girls in traditional dress.  McKenna said it wasn't as formal as a Kimono, but it looks pretty complicated to me!

Love, love, love this beautiful girl!
