Last week McKenna came home from cheer practice telling me her arm was broken and that she needed it fixed in one hour so she could cheer at the ball game that night. She said also that it happened stunting and it happened about 2 hours before. Of course, being the awesome nurse I am, I looked at it and came to the same conclusion. She had just about no range of motion and if you can see on the thumb side, there is a slight protrusion. Well, I called up and got her an appointment and xrays - almost within her 1 hour time limit and it turns out it is sprained. However, her doctor told us with this kind of sprain, between the radius and ulna, you almost wish it were broken instead, it would heal just a little faster and feel better. It is now turning black and blue where the splint doesn't apply pressure on her arm. She still can't do much without the splint on - even sleep. Needless to say, she had to skip the ball game - the bus left without her - and stay home resting and catching up on facebook - poor girl!
That looks sore, McKenna. Hope it heals soon.
