Licenses and Easter Eggs

I really don't have any idea what easter eggs have to do with licenses but McKenna refused to put the egg down. Silly girl! She got her learners permit today and drove home over Bear Valley from Cedar City. Her paranoid mother only let her go 45 mph, but she got to drive and was in absolute heaven! As for the egg, it has been boiled and colored and is patiently awaiting to become a wonderful egg salad sandwich!

First Piano Recital

Kimber had her first piano recital last week. She played two songs and did really great for just starting Piano in January. She had both songs memorized and didn't miss a beat or a note. Awesome job Kimber!

State FCCLA Champ!

McKenna recently won state at FCCLA (Family, Career, Community Leaders of America)!!! This competition was held between all the school divisions in Utah - not just 1A. She will now be able to go onto Nationals in CHICAGO!!!
Her project focused on interpersonal communications between mothers and daughters. She and her friend Baylee hosted a tea party for girls on their cheer squad and their mothers. They called it "T" Time for Two and labeled the "T" teach, talk and trust. They invited Cynthia Kimball Humphreys to speak. Cynthia is a professional speaker and motivational trainer who lives in Hatch.
She can hardly wait to go to Chicago. We are so proud of you McKenna! Way to go!

State Debate

Whoohooo! Yes 2nd year we have won debate! Thankfully I was on the team this year! It was actually a great thing that I even made it onto the team because its my first year doing debate and I did SPAR, which is spontanious arguement so you get a topic like "Barbies are a great rollmodel for young girls" then you're either affirmative or negative and get 1 minute to prepare a 2 min opening 3 min clash and 1 min closing. It's actually really fun and we beat ICS which is some Christian school that lives in Salt Lake and gets to go to at least 8 tournies with 5A and 6A schools and we only compete at region for practice. They were so mad!
Katelyn, Frecia, and I after we won!

Katelyn and I!
Waiting for our rounds...
Still waiting!
At our hotel in the morning trying to open the elevator. Can you tell we're still half asleep?

State Basketball

Unfortunatly Pang boys weren't playing their best so we didn't make it to the championship game instead we placed 5th! ugh I know! Piute and Bryce Valley were the ones who made it to the champ game and it was fun to watch it!

First time BV has ever won state basketball. Does it show? Sorry if I'm really rude about BV but as a Panguitchian it is my moral obligation to hate them; plus their fans are jerks. One guy (a middle aged man) tore down a sign that us cheerleaders spent an hour+ making!

Maryn and I goofing off.

Better Warm?

Today as Addison and I headed out the door we stepped into a fridged cold blast of wind. I exclaimed that it was "bitter cold!" Addison in her sweet unassuming way informed me that "No, it's better warm!" Ha Ha - had a good laugh on that one! She also is adamant that it's "Snow White and the Seven Doors!" Love all the things they come up with!

Check it out

I often wonder where my kid's talent comes from. Check out the new profile pictures McKenna put together for our blog. She's got an eye for photography and can put the pictures together really well. I think that just figuring out the program to format the pictures is a talent in and of itself. Thanks McKenna, they turned out beautiful!

Leighton's Blessing

Leighton's blessing was yesterday. We really enjoyed visiting with family and friends. We were grateful the snow storm was mild enough that the roads were clear enough by the time family arrived. Thanks to all for coming!

We are so grateful for this little daughter and sister. I am especially grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ which binds us together eternally. I cannot imagine raising a family without the knowledge the gospel gives me, the security I feel in that knowedge and the peace it brings to me as a mother.

Pure Joy!

Now we really are seeing those beautiful smiles, more frequently and lighting up Leighton's whole face! This makes all those late nights and short naps well worth it!
