Ready...Aim...Shoot!

July 25, 2014

After we returned home from Spanish Fork, we went out target practicing on Kelly's farm.  Another beautiful evening!  Everyone enjoyed their turn shooting at a log in a pond.

Pioneer Day

July 23-24, 2014

Jeff and I both had the 24th of July off!  Miracles do happen!  So we headed up to Spanish Fork for the holiday.  It's been a long time since we've been out of town for the 24th and it was great!  We started with the Fiesta Days Rodeo on Wednesday.  Jeff's mom and dad joined us.

This girl loves her cowboy...cowgirl hat!

Shelby (Evan's daughter), Kimber and Addison.

We were treated to a beautiful sunset...gorgeous.  My phone doesn't do it justice!

The 24th we went down to center street for the parade.  There were sprinkles and we took the umbrellas.  Grateful for the cooler morning weather, but glad it didn't downpour!

Our view at the start of the parade.

Then I talked the girls into getting a little closer.  It really did take about the first 30 floats to do it!  They were so cute and just held hands the whole time!  Small town girls in the big city!

Sharing their spoils...

I loved watching them hold hands!

After a BBQ lunch with Jay's family, we headed down to the carnival and vendor booths.  I don't know how some people afford this stuff!  We bought $30 worth of tickets and Kimber and Addison both went on 3 rides...Leighton on 2.  Or maybe I'm just too cheap to fork out the cash to stay for hours!  They did enjoy their rides however I couldn't talk anyone going on the ferris wheel with me!

Later that night we went for what Addison called our "traditional walk" around the cemetery.  Spanish Fork really does have a beautiful cemetery.  And we went in light of another beautiful sunset!

We finished off the night watching the fireworks.  Front lawn, great view, best company.  A great weekend!

Summer Days

July 2014

Shayla and her kids stopped by with her sisters and sister in law and more kids for some riding time!  Even got Kimber on a horse!  Progress!

Thunderstorm!

July 15, 2014:

For a few days, we had beautiful sunsets like this one!

Then the heavens unleashed in all their splendor!  Rain, followed by hail, followed by rain for about 4-5 more hours!  Beautiful!

A Week For Cousins

July 7-12, 2014:

Kimber and Addison enjoyed a week with Marissa!  We met in Cedar on Monday and came home to spend a great week together!  First off?  Riding!  Leighton even gave Marissa an old cowboy hat of hers.

The bummer of the whole week is that I worked 3 days!  Not fun!  So we spent one day off making circle skirts!  There wasn't enough material for Kimber and Marissa so we made littler ones for Addison and Leighton.  Kimber picked up some more material - hers will be next!

One stop after work was a trip to Mossy Cave.  Great place if you've never been.  Short, fun hike with a creek and waterfall!

Our last morning together we talked Jeff into taking us up to the top of Red Canyon.  He dropped us off for a bike ride and met us at the bottom with Leighton on her trike.

In fact we had so much fun, Jeff took us up to the top for another run down!  Only this time after the bridge, Addison's foot caught on the bike trail and she ended up flipping head over heels!  An abrasion by her left eye, scraps from her armpit to her waist on the left side, a scrape on her r shin and then road rash on her left elbow.  It still was a great ride, we still had fun and we will still go again!  So glad for our bike helmets!
