Happy Independence Day!

July 4, 2014:

We enjoyed a great Independence Day this year in Panguitch.  First off we had a wonderful visit from my sister Elizabeth and her husband Rick and their daughter Amy and her boys Blake, Derek, and Drew.  I didn't get any photos of them...terrible aunt I know.  After a BBQ in the rain, we saddled up the horses for them and took them up and down the lane a few times.

That evening Addison entered her first ever rodeo.  She has been taking riding lessons from a great girl here in town the past couple of weeks.  Bailee has been teaching her all the 4-H events for rodeo.  Addison has loved it and her skills on a horse have improved incredibly!

Pole Bending:.

For an in-between, the littles (5 and under) chased rabbits.  If they caught one, they got to keep it.  Leighton decided to give it a go!  Alas...no rabbit.  I'm pretty much ok with that!

Next in-between was a boot game.  All the kids kicked of their shoes and ran to the middle to sort through the shoes and pick out their own.  Addison had hers on first and would have won if she had known which was to run to the announcer!  She's the one with the cowboy hat on.

Next event:  Goat dressing.  Allie and Addison teamed up to dress a goat in a shirt and shorts!  Pretty funny!

Leighton ran off with the camera and this is one that I found.  Thanks Leighton!  Looks like she had a fun night too!

After the rodeo, we went home, roasted smores over the BBQ, and enjoyed the traditional sparklers and home fireworks while watching the city's display.

Ours seemed a little pathetic after watching all the city's.  But the kids had fun and we put to bed some exhausted kids!  Great 4th!
