Christmas 2012

The Christmas season started out again with Bobby the Elf making his appearance!  He was a little late this year and wrote a little note explaining that his car broke down and then he had to stop for snacks, but had some left over to share.  Thank goodness he found the house!  Here are a few of his escapades!

Once again the Elementary held it's Christmas program for parents.   I love this simple program.  Love to see the kids shine and hear their voices as they sing!

Next to come was the ward party.  I thought it was funny that Leighton refuses to go to nursery but was the first to get on the stage with the primary!

Garrett and McKenna had a role to play as well.  Garrett was Samuel the Lamanite.  McKenna - an angel.

And of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus made their special appearance.

Finally - Christmas!  I worked Christmas Eve so alas no pics of Christmas Eve.  But Christmas morning after our usual breakfast of cinnamon rolls and bacon, the troops made their way upstairs!

Where in the world is Leighton?!?

Just before Christmas, Leighton and I headed to St. George for a little last minute shopping.  She was so very good all day and by the time we got to Costco at the end was just all tuckered out!  As soon as we walked in and I put her in a cart, she laid down and fell fast asleep - the whole time!  It was a good thing too!  I just stacked all the food around her.  I don't know what I would have done had she awakened!  At the checkout a older woman asked me why I was taking pictures of my cart.  I showed her the best little package in my cart.  She was astounded she hadn't woke up with all that around her!  Me too!

My Favorite Holiday!

Addison started out the holiday by camouflaging a turkey to hide from being made into Thanksgiving dinner.  Her solution?  A hula dancing queen!  She cut actual leaves from one of our plants and used those as her skirt.

I don't have too many pics of Thanksgiving dinner itself, and borrowed this one from brother John.  But it was great!  Over the course of a 2 day holiday I was able to see each of my siblings and visit with most of my nephews and nieces and their children!  So nice having a get together like this!  I am so impressed with all these little people and love their moms and dads!  They are raising incredible families!

Perhaps the highlight of the holiday was a trip/weenie roast out at the Sands.  Thanks to John's excellent navigation skills we were able to pick a second location after original location was lost/forgotten/disappeared.  So fun to feel soft red dirt under my feet - brought back so many memories!

I love this family!  Wow!  I definitely count them among my most incredible blessings and love any and every chance to be with them!  Thanksgiving was truly a time for giving thanks for them and for their influence in my life!
