Pioneer Day

July 23-24, 2014

Jeff and I both had the 24th of July off!  Miracles do happen!  So we headed up to Spanish Fork for the holiday.  It's been a long time since we've been out of town for the 24th and it was great!  We started with the Fiesta Days Rodeo on Wednesday.  Jeff's mom and dad joined us.

This girl loves her cowboy...cowgirl hat!

Shelby (Evan's daughter), Kimber and Addison.

We were treated to a beautiful sunset...gorgeous.  My phone doesn't do it justice!

The 24th we went down to center street for the parade.  There were sprinkles and we took the umbrellas.  Grateful for the cooler morning weather, but glad it didn't downpour!

Our view at the start of the parade.

Then I talked the girls into getting a little closer.  It really did take about the first 30 floats to do it!  They were so cute and just held hands the whole time!  Small town girls in the big city!

Sharing their spoils...

I loved watching them hold hands!

After a BBQ lunch with Jay's family, we headed down to the carnival and vendor booths.  I don't know how some people afford this stuff!  We bought $30 worth of tickets and Kimber and Addison both went on 3 rides...Leighton on 2.  Or maybe I'm just too cheap to fork out the cash to stay for hours!  They did enjoy their rides however I couldn't talk anyone going on the ferris wheel with me!

Later that night we went for what Addison called our "traditional walk" around the cemetery.  Spanish Fork really does have a beautiful cemetery.  And we went in light of another beautiful sunset!

We finished off the night watching the fireworks.  Front lawn, great view, best company.  A great weekend!
