Pioneer Day

July 24th:

The truth is that our July 24th celebration actually started the night before up at Kelly's corrals where the girls and I watched Kelly, Gavin, Lonny, and Heather's boys rope a few steers.  It was a beautiful evening and so good to visit with Aunt Ruby and Heather!

July 24th was a great day.  Jeff borrowed one of mom's saddle's, the black one with all the Spanish silver on it and took it to a woman in town that refinishes saddles and such.  She loved the saddle!  Anyways, with it all cleaned up and looking so good, Addison rode in the parade with Jeff.   Nancy and her family came up for the day.  So we were happy when they arrived in time for the parade!  McKenna also rode in a convertible in the parade as part of the Homecoming Royalty.

It was a really good day.  So grateful for our heritage and those who gave us such wonderful examples to follow!  Addison has made her dad and her Grandma Schmutz proud by loving the heritage with which she was given!

  1. Rachel, just so you know, I spoke for Moms' saddle years ago! But I'll be a good uncle and let Addison use it.
