Safe and Sound

October 8th McKenna traveled to Provo to go to State Baseball with 4 of her friends. The trip up was uneventful and the Bobcats won their first came in the playoffs! Go Cats! However, things went a little wrong the next day. The girls were in an accident and were quite shook up from the incident. McKenna called home to say she was in a wreck. Well, used to teasing from this daughter of mine, I proceeded to call her on a bluff, only have her reply that this time she was serious and would I like to visit with the officer on scene! Two of the girls were taken to the hospital and were later discharged, the most serious injury being a concussion. All in all, I am grateful McKenna kept her head and was calm. Really she thought the whole thing was just a bit over-exagerated and just wanted to go on to the baseball games. That didn't happen as the girls spent the next few hours with each other in the hospital. Entertainment was not lacking in the ER as they frequently passed the room of an intoxicated fellow which kept the girls laughing and occupied. They must have jinxed the baseball team with their absence because they lost game #2! Anyways, we were so very grateful for a Heavenly Father's protection over McKenna and her incredible friends.
While three of the girls were safely taken to family members homes and brought back to Panguitch, McKenna and Frecia caught up with the Panguitch 3rd ward YM/YW to attend a BYU football game (which they actually won - see they are good luck!). The girls had a great time, got home safe and sound and just massaged out a bit of whiplash for the next couple of days!
